Joyleen Loy Kemarre

Joyleen was born c1972 in the Utopia region of the Northern Territory.  Utopia is located approximately 290km North East of Alice Springs.

She comes from a family of well known artists.  Her mother, Margret Loy Pula, won the 2012 Wynne Prize, her sister is the well-known and highly regarded artist Abie Loy Kemarre.  Joyleen’s aunt, Gloria Petyarre, and grandmother, Kathleen Petyarre,  are also both highly celebrated artists.

Joyleen's work depicts Bush Hen Dreaming and the journey of the bush hen (turkey) through the country in search of food.
