Gracie Morton Pwerle was born in c1956, in Utopia, north east of Alice Springs, Northern Territory.
Niece to Gloria, Kathleen, Myrtle, Violet and Ada Bird Petyarre all of whom are recognised artists in their own right. Gracie began painting batik silk in the 1970’s at Utopia and moved on to canvas in the 1980’s. Many of her works represent Bush Plum Dreaming
Her work has featured in many exhibitions overseas and in Australia such as The National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria and the Art Gallery of South Australia.
